I’ve always believed that food cooked over real wood and charcoal just hits different. Propane and gas might be convenient, but they’ll never deliver that deep, fire-kissed flavor you only get from real smoke.

My BBQ journey kicked off over 20 years ago with a shiny black kamado I grabbed from Walmart — thin as a tin can, leaked more air than a '70s kid bike tire, and barely held heat. But I learned everything on that grill: how to manage airflow, dial in temps, gauge meat doneness, and most importantly, build layers of flavor.

That grill was rough, but it lit a lifelong fire.

From that first backyard smoke session, I upgraded to a ceramic kamado, brought in a few Traeger’s for experimentation, and eventually dove into stick-burning — the rawest, most rewarding form of BBQ. Along the way, I experimented with spices, wood types, meat cuts, and techniques from all over the world.

Since then, I’ve cooked on it all: ceramic kamados, Traegers, and full-on stick burners. I’ve smoked every cut of meat imaginable, tested every rub I could dream up, and pushed every limit I could find. Two decades later, I turned my passion into a mission — creating Eat My Ash Inc., a bold, small-batch BBQ brand that delivers handcrafted rubs and custom-built smokers for people who take their BBQ seriously.
